Local Directions

The following directions work equally well for our guest house Sandpiper House or our self catering apartments Elizabeth House.

When approaching from Scarborough via the A171 continue across the bridge which spans the River Esk. Continue along and through the set of traffic lights heading towards the Town Centre down Prospect Hill / Downdinner Hill. Take the first left turning at the small mini roundabout heading up Chubb Hill. At the roundabout take the second left turning “Upgang Lane”, before taking the first right turn approximately 30 metres later into Crescent Avenue. Drive past the Royal Mail sorting office on your right, following the road as it bends left. Turn right into John Street / Normanby Terrace and travel down the road, our self catering apartments Elizabeth House are just over half way down whilst Sandpiper House is directly ahead as you approach the junction.

From Teesside (Pickering) A171 continue towards Whitby over the first major roundabout at Four Lanes End As you approach the traffic lights take the small left slip road heading towards the town centre going down Prospect Hill / Downdinner Hill, then follow the directions as above.

There is limited on street parking but throughout the summer months it can sometimes be difficult to find a suitable parking space close the guest house.
